AirWare USA has the capability to build customized portable test solutions for military and commercial avionics equipment.

A recent example is our Compact STE-SV1 built to test a specific military avionics LRU. This compact test platform is designed with the capability to record outputs and simulate all inputs to the avionics LRU simultaneously, essentially “flying the box”.

Here is a list of the test platform’s capabilities:

• ARINC 429 Data Bus Testing
  • 10 programmable independent RX/TX Channels (2 channels can be configured for ARINC 717)
  • Message Error Detection and Real Time Error Insertion
  • Bus Communication Recording and Playback
  • Variable ARINC Speed Output
  • Variable Output Channel Voltage with Voltage Monitoring
• Discrete I/O – 16 individually programmable I/O Avionics Discretes
• Serial Communication – 4 ports that can be software configured for RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 communication
• Function/Signal Generation – 2 independent channels of analog signal generation of standard waveforms (sine, square, etc…) or custom waveforms up to 10 MHz for simulating LRU sensor inputs. 2 more independent channels can be added depending on testing needs.
• Variable Resistance – 2 Software controlled digital potentiometers provide the ability to vary resistance values up to 1K Ohms for simulating LRU sensor inputs. More potentiometers with higher resistance values can be added depending on testing needs.
• Variable Voltage – 8 Software controlled digital potentiometers provide the ability to vary LRU sensor input voltage values from 0 to 28V. More potentiometers can be added depending on testing needs.
• Relays – 16 Software controlled electro-mechanical relays provide isolated switching ability to high voltage/current (up to 30V DC/11A) LRU outputs. More relays can be added if needed.

All of this capability is provided in a portable package that can be used in a lab for testing or taken out into the field for diagnostics and troubleshooting. Because our Compact STE-SV1 uses the Windows 10 Pro operating system, it can even be operated remotely across a network.
